Michelle Wilson is the executive director of the Sydney Downtown Development Association. She has spent years spearheading the collective drive to improve the shopping and waterfront district and to provide support to the area’s businesses.
“It’s really happening and we couldn’t be more excited,” said Wilson.
“Look, the construction isn’t going to be pretty, but the end result is going to be worth it. It really is.”
The association put together a “Charlotte Street Construction Toolkit” which they have distributed to businesses affected by the redevelopment. The toolkit provides information about the upcoming construction as well as tips on doing business through the disruption and explains the two designated delivery zones (they will be located on Pitt and Dorchester streets. It also gives a tentative Phase 1 work timeline).
