Housing and health care will be two of the biggest contributors to investment growth in the Atlantic region this year, according to an Atlantic investment outlook by the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council.
APEC expects capital spending on major projects in the region to increase by eight per cent in 2021 to $10.5 billion, following the significant drop in capital spending experienced in 2020, mainly due to the pandemic.
The outlook summarizes the key findings of APEC’s 2021 major projects inventory, which identifies 489 capital projects in various stages of development throughout Atlantic Canada with a total value of nearly $150 billion, which is an increase of three per cent from last year’s inventory. Read more…
