Details on the March sessions are: \n• Thursday\, March 11\, 2021 (Part 1 – Introductions) 6pm-8pm\nThis session will include an overview of the upcoming infrastructure projects for job-seekers\, as well as introductory information for those who have not worked in this industry before\, have no trade experience\, and/or no apprenticeship experience. \n• Tuesday\, March 23 (Part 2 – Next Steps) 6pm-8pm\nThis session will include information on training and employment opportunities in the construction industry\, specific to the public Cape Breton Infrastructure projects for those who attended the first session\, work-ready individuals\, job-seekers who may or may not already work in the trades\, and/or those who already have experience with apprenticeship.

Together\, these projects will create jobs\, opportunities for workforce training for underrepresented groups\, and direct benefits to local businesses\, communities\, and the economy. \nThe third session in our information series\, “Navigating the E-Bidding System” occurred on February 24. This session gave attendees a greater understanding of how to bid on Government of Nova Scotia tender opportunities\, including: \n\nHow to register in Ariba;\nHow to prepare documents;\nHow to respond and bid on opportunities;\nHow to navigate in Ariba; and\nHow to access help.

Together\, these projects will create jobs\, opportunities for workforce training for underrepresented groups\, and direct benefits to local businesses\, communities\, and the economy. \nThe first segment in this virtual information session series was held on February 10\, 2021\, and focused on providing a broad range of information on the opportunities for local businesses and suppliers\, including: \n\nAn overview of the upcoming infrastructure projects and their associated timelines;\nPresentations from project Construction Managers; • Overview of opportunities for small and medium business\, social enterprises\, and diverse suppliers;\nA preview of sessions that will focus specifically on opportunities to do business with government; and\nOpportunities for questions and answers.\n\nFuture sessions in this series will also include an Introduction to Selling to Government (February 17\, 2021) and Navigating the E-Bidding System for Suppliers (February 24\, 2021).
